Iconography. Punitione. Number 4 of the five acts. Pluto and Proserpina lead into the allegory in the direction of viewing from left to right. They are the king and queen of the realm of the dead, the realm of the shadows. Proserpina has been kidnapped from the world of the living, hijacked by force; this is a famous iconic image, a sculpture of Bernini. Proserpina is the target of Orpheus' enchanting strings, she is the fellow sufferer of Eurydice. Orpheus supports his request to get Eurydice back by means of his music. There is music in the air, this time a painting (shadow) by Kandinsky, who a century ago created the definitive bridge between painting and music. Proserpina herself also prefers to stand with one foot on the Stairway to heaven (Led Zeppelin), back to the upper world or back down, which Eurydice will experience after Orpheus' breaking the appointment not to look back - the Great Wall, China. Proserpina is het mikpunt van Orpheus voor zijn betoverend snarenspel, een lotgenoot van Eurydice. Orpheus ondersteunt zijn verzoek om Eurydice terug te krijgen met zijn muziek.
