Ensign description.
This ensign may be applicable. It may be as a subject
for meditation. This ensign breaks one-flatnessly human's mind.
Unexpected question and rich rich colours set human's mind in
unusual condition. A man, who sees at it, may to know mysterions
and unrational thought of Great East. A cow is one of the
ancientest symbols for East people.
It is devoted for J.D. Salinger.

Merlin - Germany

...here is my emblem for you. Since a lot of years I signed my artwork with a
little falcon. In 1993, working for the mailart exhibition "Animals in Mailart" at
zoological Museum Hamburg almoust every night, my habit changed into a falcon
ones like "merlin" in 4 th century was able to do sometimes.
The falcon now is part of my sign: Merlin 98
, and of my japanese falcon mono
I am using for my emblem stamped on Letters and Mailart works.
So the Sender of this Art is identified without needing a senders adress.
Greetings and all the best,

THE MODERN MAN

Ross Barnes - United Kingdom

...My initial reaction to the interpretation of a contemporary 'emblem'
as you required was somewhat antithetical to what I perceived as the traditional one.
The use of emblematic imagery, particulary those of the mailitary and the weaponry
of war I oppossed. A series of old emblems entitled 'THE HONOURABLE
ORDINARIES' were, I discovered most inspiring.
The shield shape I saw as being used purely for its esthetic qualities, enabling further
more abstract designs.
This is where I saw my emblem arriving. Encorporating limited colours, enigmatic
pre-millenial numerals, TWENTY ONE - 21e. with the use of domestic house paints
new and old, keeping it simple with a sense of the majestic, something sublime to
contemplate upon. Retrieving printerly qualities with the directly handprinted hay
stacks, offer you my emblem object. .......
